Celtics second-round pick Bill Walker will have knee surgery tomorrow and is expected to be out of
action for 3-4 weeks. Walker injured his right knee during a workout this month for Golden State, and the surgery is expected to be minor. Walker, a 6-6, 235-pounder, averaged 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds as a redshirt freshman for Kansas State while playing alongside Michael Beasley, the second pick in the draft. The 20-year-old Walker played six games for the Wildcats as a true freshman before suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The Celtics sent cash considerations to the Washington Wizards for the 47th pick in the draft, which they used to draft Walker.
Jeff's Barr-ometer This cat looks like a player. The Celtics should be a force for some time to come. The gloomy days seem over for a while for the green machine.
