An hour removed from drafting New Mexico headcase, J.R Giddens, the draft simply got boring. I sat in front of my TV, with my player rankings and mock, just crossing names off as they were called.

nbaInsert; Bill "Sky" Walker.

Due to the story I'm about to tell you, you should thank Jim Doig and I for the teams draftings.

> [4:15 PM ET] "Doig" as I like to call him and I were looking on nbadraft.net when I showed him who Serge Ibaka was. I proceeded to click on his name but randomly enough, J.R Giddens profile popped up. Mind you, Ibaka's name was nine spots from Giddens.

My response, a simply, angry teen one; "What the hell."

Oh if I only knew that Giddens would have went 30th to the Celtics .. Oh wait a second.

> [6:30 PM ET] I log on to footballsfuture.com and look at my first Celtics mock I posted on June 1st. One in which I had Giddens going 30th to the Celtics and Trent Plaisted 60th.

> [7:00 pm ET] Doig would not shut up about us drafting Walker, but I kept telling him he would be gone at 29 to the Pistons from a report I heard earlier.

> [10:04 pm ET] With Chris Doulgas-Roberts on the board I knew he would be the pick. He fit the team perfectly and could be that instant contributor. Meanwhile Doig just kept saying "Bill Walker", "Bill Walker." Next thing you know ..

"With the 30th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select, J.R. Giddens"

I gave a couple of claps and cheers. To be honest I was happier that I got the pick right more so then the player.

Doig's response; "-----------------------------"

> [11:00 pm ET] As I start to write my pick breakdowns the draft just gets boring, I ask Doig if he wants me to drive him home. "No" he quickly said.

> [11:45 pm ET] Adam Silver with the ever so intriguing words; "There has been a trade" Doig and I put the TV louder in anticipation. Doig simply says, Walker to the C's. Well to his surprise, "The Wizards trade the rights to Bill Walker to the Boston Celtics." Pandemonium. Mind you I watched the finals with Doig and he had no reaction after winning the title, nor did I really, to be honest. Game four took it all out of me. But, when Walker was picked we looked like well we did when Jerod Mayo was the Pats' pick in April, little kids in a candy store.

Nothing speaks louder than two college to be students jumping up and down because a professional team drafted a mediocre small forward.

> [11:46 PM ET] Now we're going to pick "that dude" from Turkey. I continued to yell.

> [11:58 PM ET] Sure enough we did.

What's the point of this? Nothing. But, you can thank Doig and I for the C's draft picks.

BallHype: hype it up!
