Roster Update:  The Patriots have officially signed a draft pick, with fifth-rounder Matthew Slater inking an undisclosed deal on Friday. Slater is the first of the team's seven picks to sign. The Patriots waived P Scott Player, TE Tyson DeVree, NT Henry Smith and DE Casey Tyler today.  In addition, ILB Eric Alexander officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender, meaning he now counts against the 80-man roster limit.

Breaking Rumor:  Free-Agent OL Barry Sims To Visit New England Patriots

Patriots.com:

Just to be clear, Tom Brady is fine. During minicamp this past weekend, New England's franchise QB joked about his limited athletic performance due to the ankle injury he suffered during last season's playoffs. Some media outlets took his words seriously, so on Monday, at the Patriots Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament, Brady made it known that he is in fact OK.
“My body feels great. My leg feels great. My mind feels great. Yeah, I’m ready,” he said. The samerandy_moss_in_practice.jpg appears to be the case for CB Ellis Hobbs, who played through pain and injuries throughout the 2007 season. He has had two surgeries for separate injuries this offseason. "I know each day it's getting better," Hobbs said at the golf tournament. "Physically, I feel a lot better now than I did at the end of the season."He did not say, however, if he'd be ready for the start of training camp next month. Feeling good is a trend among the Pats, apparently. RB Sammy Morris, whose first season in New England ended with a freak injury last October, is also on the road to recovery, having taken part in minicamp and passing camp in recent weeks."I feel good," he said.

"I think everybody here is trying to balance the soreness and stuff that comes from not really being used to the movements. You can't really simulate game or practice speed now. It's hard to simulate the movements and stuff that, as a running back, you have to do. So I'm trying to get my body acclimated to all that soreness."
