It took the Patriots a little over a month but they finally upgraded the LB position on Monday; signing former New York Jets LB Victor Hobson. To this date the only real significant free agent signing that came to the Patriots was Fernando Bryant. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the Patriots could have found a future starter for them. Hobson, who is 28 years old, played outside LB for the Jets but has the size to play on the inside. It would appear that the Jets did not really need Hobson’s services anymore as he was more a less a solid, consistent player; not the “wow” player like a Patrick Willis or Brian Urlacher.
The deal, like almost every other one this off-season, is a 1 year deal.
