The Celtics cruised to a 99-77 victory over the Bucks in Milwaukee on Saturday night without the services of Ray Allen who sat out nursing a foot injury.
T
ony Allen started in place of Ray and the Boston bench gave a great effort with Eddie House scoring 17 points to compliment Kevin Garnett's 19 points of offense.
The Celtics took control early in the game and never looked back as veteran Sam Cassell started his game 4 for 4 from the floor with 3 smooth jumpers. The savvy veteran looks to be what the doctor ordered and will mesh well with this team of all stars.
The game was well in hand by halftime as they held a 53-35 lead while holding the Bucks to just under 35 percent shooting from the floor for the night. Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo both scored 13 points while Cassel added 5 assists and 3 steals. Garnett and Pierce rested deservedly the whole 4th quarter and new addition P.J.Brown reminded me of Dennis Rodman snaring down 9 rebounds without the make-up.
This was a good start to a 5 game road trip that should figure to be very tough with games at San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and New Orleans. Celtic fans can expect to see some exciting basketball over the next week.
