Rajon Rondo and the Boston Celtics have agreed in principle to a 5-year, 55-million dollar contract extension today, as reported in the Boston Herald. Details are sketchy as to the particulars of the deal, and a source close to negotiations told the Herald that it's "not a done deal yet."
Recently, David Aldridge at nba.com has reported that Rondo's agent, Bill Duffy has confirmed that an agreement has been reached, saying the Celtics indicated late last night that they were willing to meet Rondo's original contract demands. Read 0 Comments... >> |

The Celtics watched their hopes of an undefeated preseason go down in flames against Houston Rockets last night, losing 96-90. The contest, staged in Hildago at the tippy-tip of southern Texas, was typical preseason fare--ragged play plagued with fouls and free throws without any game flow or that much excitement. The Cs started well (especially in the 1st half), but as their starters gave way to their reserves, they failed to execute down the stretch.
Yet, one game in, it's never too early to formulate opinions, even if they'll need improving later. So here are some, in a first blush impression kind of way, keeping in mind that IT'S ONLY THE PRESEASON. Read 0 Comments... >> |

Not only losing 90-85 to the Utah Jazz on Thursday night, Boston has loss Kevin Garnett for 2-3 weeks and possibly longer due to a strained knee. Knee injuries to basketball players are like stripping the vocal chords of a singer or rapper. This does not bode well for the Celtics who need the big guy for not only his game but all of the intangibles he brings to the team such as leadership, and guidance.
