With Boston skating to what appeared to be a victory, David Backes tied the game with a buzzer beating goal and the Blues went on to a 5-4 victory in front of a shocked Boston audience.
The B's were leading by as much as 4-2 after being behind 2-1, but three quick scoring strikes put them out in front.Blake wheeler missed a shot at a wide open net before Backes did his damage with the tying goal.
The Blues rode that momentum to victory for the team who had lost nine out of ten road games previously.
Boston was without the services of Milan Lucic for the sixth straight game and Aaron Ward missed his third from the injury he sustained against Montreal.
Thanks to Boston .com for the assist.
